“While many people my age are getting married and having children, I'm playing gigs in small bars and waking up with a hangover.”
Adrisel welcomes Brooklyn-based singer/songwriter, Ashley Strongarm! Ashley pulls inspiration from traditional folk, southern rock, and indie surf to create a sound that reflects her southern roots and current journey as a young musician in New York.
Since her arrival in the Empire State, Ashley has seen success by snagging performances at Montauk Music Festival and Mercury Lounge. She has also seen growth in her digital music. Her first single “I Don't Feel Anything” was released in May 2019 and has already garnered over 72,000 streams.
This single can be found on her EP For Ghosts, which was released in December 2019. Written for the ghosts of her past, the album touches on past relationships, both tumultuous and all-too-still, as well as her conflicting understandings as a woman raised in the south.
Ashley’s newest single, “Pushing Daisies”, is set to release this upcoming February. This song is all about coming to terms with the fact that her life looks nothing like the lives of her friends back in her hometown. “While many people my age are getting married and having children, I'm playing gigs in small bars and waking up with a hangover.”
