In his new single, Emaculant brings light to independent artists and their importance in the industry. We sat down with him to discuss his upcoming single, "Inside View", even further.
What was the inspiration behind your new single?
The inspiration behind it would be independent artists and I guess looking at a lot of the mainstream artists that are out now – being just as talented as them, but not getting the same opportunities to go ahead and present myself in the same platforms as they are.
How long have you been working on "Inside View"?
I actually wrote “Inside View” probably about a month ago and then recorded it. I usually write about a song a day, so I wrote it down actually just sitting down thinking about somethings and when I heard the instrumental it inspired me to write about that particular topic.
Has Covid-19 affected the progression of the project?
No, not really. Initially, last year it slowed down a few things because you could not get to the studios, but now some of the studios that I usually go to have opened back up. And in the meantime, I was just writing songs.
Did you work with anyone else or it was purely independent?
What are you looking for your listeners to get out of this project?
Pretty much to get an understanding that there are a lot of independent artists out there that are just as talented or more talented than mainstream artists.
What else can we expect from you in 2021?
I would say probably a ninth single and then I would actually just combine it all into an EP and add two more tracks to those nine singles.
Is there anything else you would like to share regarding Inside View?
Definitely go and listen to it. I am hoping that it does inspire other artists to go out there and just go for it.
"Inside View" available this Friday on all streaming platforms.
