What was your inspiration for “For You”? I wrote this song after deciding to go back to being an independent artist. I am able to release whatever I wanted now that I’m not contracted in with a label anymore, so the true inspiration for “For You” was just the creative liberties I was able to take that I couldn’t take before. The song itself is about owning up to mistakes while looking at both sides of the story. I think it’s really important to be able to recognize your own mistakes and grow from them.
How long have you been working on this project?
From start to finish, this project took about three months.
How has Covid-19 affected this project?
The pandemic indirectly influenced this project in particular. The genre is a little bit different than what I’m used to and I think this happened because I was able to release what I wanted without the label’s approval first.
What would you like your listeners to get out of the project?
Let go of whatever resentments you may have. There’s no point in dwelling on the past, we need to own up to our mistakes and move forward.
Did you collaborate with anyone on this project?
Yes, I worked with a producer named Climax on “For You”. I love working with people on my music because I’m able to learn more about the industry through connecting with people.
What else can we expect from you in 2021? I will be releasing another project called “Drowning” with Climax in about 2-3 months, so stay tuned!
Is there anything else you would like to share with your fans, listeners, and our readers regarding this project?
This song is a great introduction to who I am as an independent artist and is a great representation of what my future releases may look like.
Hantz's "For You" will be releasing on all platforms this Friday!
