“It’s Alright” by Jurneé Alexis Coming Soon!

What was your inspiration behind “It’s Alright”?

I named it “It’s Alright” because I wrote this song as a way to talk to myself and tell myself that the hard times I’m currently going through will pass and everything will be alright.

How long have you been working on this project?

I started writing this song with my co-writer in 2019!

How has Covid-19 affected this project?

I was originally supposed to record this song right after my first single “Ready Now”. However, when Covid-19 hit many buildings that housed recording studios closed down. I ended up going to a new studio which was a very long tedious process. Due to Covid-19, there were also restrictions on how many people were allowed in the studio so I wasn’t able to have my entire team with me.

Who did you work with on this project?

I worked with a few amazing people on this song. I worked with Kyana J and Kelly Smith to write the lyrics. Shawn Rey Smith and Brandon Attmore produced the track.

What are your favorite lyrics off of the song?

My favorite lyric in the song is “breathe in and breathe out, always a way out”. I love this line because it emphasizes the message I’m trying to convey through the song. No matter how difficult life may be, if you just breathe in and breathe out and stay hopeful, you will find the light at the end of the tunnel.

What would you like your listeners to get out of the project?

I would like my listeners to listen to the song and understand that whatever you’re going through at the moment will pass, you will get through it, and you will be alright. I want my listeners to listen to the song when they feel like life is hard so they can get inspired to keep going. While navigating through life we face many obstacles but we have to breathe in and breathe out and fight through it.

What else can we expect from you in 2021?

You guys can expect some more singles and my first EP. Im in the process of writing my EP right now and I can’t wait for my listeners to hear a different and more mature sound from me. I also want to drop my first music video this year and do some performances.

"It's Alright" coming May 14th!
