What inspired you to release your single “Lost Me”?
"Lost Me" is a song I wrote about trying to save somebody who doesn't want to be saved and consequently losing yourself in the process. In my last relationship, I spent years trying to help my girlfriend find who she is and grow as a person, but I realized that all that was really happening was the opposite; I was losing myself and became the worst version of myself.
How long have you been working on this project?
I’ve been working on this project for about a month. I wrote and recorded the song in a week, but spent a few more weeks on the mixing and mastering process, as I do my own production in my bedroom.
Did you collaborate with anyone on this single?
The track was created by Bartes Beats, but I did the writing, performing, and engineering.
How has COVID-19 impacted this project?
COVID, with everything being shut down and the unemployment benefits, has allowed me the time to work on the song as much as I needed to without interruption.
What is your favorite part about the song?
My favorite part of this song has to be the second verse because I really like the background vocals. My second favorite part is definitely the ending post-chorus because the second half of the song builds well.
What do you want your fans to get out of this new release?
I want for the people who’ve been through this to know that they’re not alone. I also want people to learn from my mistake. Sometimes, even when you have the best of intentions, things just go wrong, and that is okay. Know when it is time to let go though.
What else do you have planned for the rest of 2021?
In 2021, I’m definitely going to be coming out with a number of singles in the pop and alternative genres. Maybe a rap song here and there as well.
Is there anything else you would like to share with your fans, listeners and our readers regarding this single?
Something that took me two years and a half to learn, I’ve condensed into about 3 minutes. I just hope that people enjoy the song and learn from it. Never sacrifice your mental and emotional health for someone else. You’re no good to/for anyone if you aren’t any good to/for yourself. Remember that, just like me, you are a rockstar. Put yourself first, make yourself happy, love yourself, and enjoy life.
