When did you realize that you wanted to be a musician?
To be honest, I was always passionate about music... As a kid I was dancing and jumping around and trying to sing as early as I can remember. But I always thought to be (imagine spotlights on a stage) 'a musician' you have to be special or super talented and I never felt that confident. So I started in my bedroom and shower and stayed there for a long time! I then got into acting and did this for like nine years. At that point I had friends who had a band and no singer... So I started out trying to sing to help them out and then I really got a taste and realized it was music all along (this could be like the script of a romantic movie right?? Haha! ) After that I tried more instruments because I could write on my own and create more.
What is the most challenging aspect of being a musician?
When my dad died, (he truly was my biggest fan and also a musician/music enthusiast), I felt really lost because when write new stuff he was like my ideal critic... And I had a time in which I couldn't really write anything new.
What is the most rewarding aspect of being a musician?
To be able to share a feeling or idea and connect with people without needing to talk is definitely the most rewarding thing about being a musician.
Who is your biggest inspiration?
Damn guys what a question.... I listen to so much music .... But I guess the band that pulled me into music are the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
Who would be your dream collaboration?
Again what a freaking question...I'd love to work with everybody!!! I guess, Metallica, Paramore (one down with Joey ;) ) Larkin Poe, Amy Vix, Alyssa Trahan, the rest of Eversol.....
What advice would you give to someone who is fighting to be a musician right now?
Make a decision and go for it!
What do you have in store for us this year?
A new album coming very soon!
Stay tuned for more details on Niels upcoming album.
